NEGROS ORIENTAL

The next day we checked out around noon and we took the bus to BAIS; about 45 minutes north, going to BACOLOD.

It was a very little and quiet town and it was hard to find accomodation - let stand 'cheap' -but after a long search I found one for 4USD. The town was full of these little bakeries where you can sit down and relax while watching people go by. I left Nery in one of them and went back to pick her up again to settle in our new room before getting to the pier to see the mamals of the sea. We took a tricycle for the 3.5km.

The whole thing seemed to be a commercial thing to attract tourists as they almost had to go near Cebu to spot flipper. They had 2 boats with one price for the boat, no matter how many people were in there.  They also only left early in the morning to come back early in the afternoon...that meant no watching for us, and we headed back to the centre to walk around until the evening to have dinner and go to bed.

Anyway, the next morning we had an early start and after a short breakfast we took the first bus we could get to the other side of the island :

Negros Occidental

We arrived in BACOLOD around 1pm and we took a tricycle to the pier to leave this island ASAP.
But even that was a problem as there were sooo many people who wanted to go to Iloilo-city.
The cheaper boat (BULLET EXPRES- 3USDperperson)  were being very arrogant and unsure as they made us stand in line to buy our ticket for 4pm while they weren't even sure if that boat was gonna leave...
I got sick of the mentality (like : what are you gonna do about it!?) that I decided to take the SUPERCAT(see link)
again(8USDperperson) that would leave at 3.15pm (but it left half an hour later).

On the way we had another stop to pick up a fisherman who was drowning in the wild sea after his little boat got turned over, and it was around 5pm that we arrived on our last island of Visayas : PANAY.
